Well, I finally looked thru my 59 business strikes and found a Type 2 in NGC MS65!
I'm after a 76 type 1 in 66...tough at a good price!

Looks genuine MS to me...not an SMS. 1965 SMS are very well struck, have very clean fields, and few blemishes. The 65 MS quarters have weaker...
Agree...the soap bars have or will give a not so attractive toning to silver coins. As for the newer slabs, the grading is no better than a crap...
Looked for type 2s on the 58s a while back but to no avail...Now for the 59s. An article in the Sept. 2018 Numismatist on page 16 very vaguely...
That is the nicest 65 business strike I've ever seen! Out of almost 2 billion coins I doubt there are more than a few this nice.
