Hard to say... The reeding on the first coin tells us it was struck in the collar at least partially... I would think this would have been its...

I don't think it's a lamination because if you look at the piece it appears to extend past the rim of the coin. This to me at least indicates that...
We found this guy today while processing some books of cents. I would call it a strike thru tho there are others that would call it a lamination....
I have to disagree. I see many young numismatist getting involved. Just go to a large coin convention and actually look and see how many kids are...

Well... the coin has a full rim... This indicates that it was struck normally. The fact that it is oval indicates that pressure was applied...
It's not a genuine double strike... Looks like post mint damage. If the coin was double struck how do you explain the reverse being gone?? Let...
