A recently graded fantasy coin I sent in. [IMG]
Well, which do you want? A properly graded coin in a slab with a little bit of prong intrusion (i.e., NGC), or an over-graded coin with glamor...
I think your mad rants might be worse than the plastic prongs. Get a grip man. :banghead: :p
Those Cyprus pieces are hard in all denominations. I have been looking for a mid MS example with attractive surfaces for more than 5 years....
I have only one example of a porcelain piece in my collection. I'd personally call this one a "store card" of the sorts meant for advertising...
Sorry, I should have been more clear. Because the token posted by the OP @jlblonde is indexed in Dalton and Hamer, it is considered a Conder...
The term "Conders" usually refers to tokens issued from 1787 to around 1804. More specifically, anything that made it into the Dalton & Hamer...
Horses pulling quadrigae have been depicted in that way since ancient times. :cigar:
I don't get it...
PCGS likes to use the "SP" (specimen/special) strike designation on medals of this era. I don't agree with the designation, but it doesn't really...
I took advantage of the 10% eBay coupon last week, and picked up this medal from Atlas. It's my first numismatic purchase for quite a long while,...

An old silver coin (I'm talking 1700s and early 1800s) with original surfaces will ALWAYS lose some of it's oxidized original lustrous surfaces...
So apparently you only collect coins minted since 1980 or so? You won't find a silver coin from the 1800s or 1700s that hasn't oxidized a bit...
I read this entire thread....that's 20 minutes of my life I can't get back. <facepalm>
I mean, we're getting to the point where the TPG's guarantees are worthless. I don't know why we pay these guys $30-50 a pop to put our coins in...
The OP paid PCGS to get it right. They screwed it up, not just a typo. They should do what they deem as correct to remedy the situation. I'm...
@gbroke: The 1941-D and 1944-D are absolutely breathtaking. Superb! I don't think the 41-D will go 68 though...67 max, if NGC is having a crappy...
People seem to think that this is just some know-nothing in the plastic slab sealing room typing in the two wrong letters "PR" instead of "MS"....
Which is what the OP purchased the coin for a couple weeks back on eBay with better pics than he's using/showing here. Sure he could post it...
