The coin has pmd. The first picture shows pmd from the reeding of another coin probably from when the coin was put in a ballistic bag.
You can also go to Vcoins and look up Trajan denarius and look for a similar coin.
I think it is a nice coin and certainly one I would buy. The only down side of the coin is the off centered reverse.

The nine has a die chip in it and your coin has been cleaned which makes it worth only face value. The y has been damaged to make it look like that.
