With all the talk about the cent, what about dollar coins? They seem even more useless than the cent. They may cost less to make, but who uses them?
I like the penny, but don't really care what the government does with it. IMO, there are SO many other ways the government could save $200...

I personally go to completed sales on eBay. That generally gives me a good idea.
