Fair point. Note that 29.6mm is 1.0mm less than standard. The other coin at 30.6mm is absolutely correct. Being 10.3g and fully reeded is weird....

1970 halves have an 80% silver / 20% copper outer layer bonded to a 20% silver / 80% copper core. The results you have are exactly what you should...

In the picture it looks very low MS or more likely AU. Lots of chatter in the fields for MS. I suspect it looks better in hand.
Also the center blue strip is not at all reflective when viewed directionally.
