I would have traded the star note for his "pocket change", and let him know the face value bargain he's getting lol.
lol It's probably a mix of both my terribad pics and re-learning to grade "smaller" coins. Bit I'll have to use natural daylight for my photos...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's over-graded, so I'm wondering what their Re-submission guarantee covers lol. There's a lot of noise randomly...
Yes, but wait 'til you see this grade ;) : [Spoiler]
How much die rotation occurs until the Mint notices to reorient the dies? Or, maybe they won't even notice it at all, in which case, how much of a...
PCGS charges $20 for a re-grade and conservation is I think $23. If it downgrades, then the grading fee is... $0? The value increase would give...
Anyone else want to guess what this coin graded as? It's part of the reason why it's so tempting for me to get it restored.
I've heard that they actually use dip (?). If so, I'm also going to make a note in bold to shorten the exposure time of conservation, to make it...
This is the 3 in the fields that's being referred to. My trace isn't that good though lol. [ATTACH][ATTACH]
I think the "N" is a characteristic of the design, after looking at other examples on PCGS's page. For the carbon spot removal, I was thinking...
I took some more photos of this coin using natural daylight instead of the artificial intense lighting setup that I've been using lately. Though,...
What if put in a note and say to remove only the hazy surface? If the carbon spots come off, then great. Otherwise, they should just leave it at...
Can you guess the grade on this 1942 Washington 25C proof by PCGS? And, if submitted to PCGS for Restoration services, what do you think it'll...
Thanks good to know.
I've seen partially missing 4 via greased dies. Do you know if a completely missing 4 is more-or-less common?
I think I see what you're talking about. The "3" is tilted counter-clockwise by 45 degrees.
I isolated what I think you're referring to and overlayed it on top of the "3". It could be a random coincidental hit. [ATTACH]
Does the middle look doubled? [ATTACH]
