I have been looking for the reason for the Bowers auction that brought that crazy price but I'm not able to find it. I probably bid in that...
Really. Please don't insult the members here. If you wish to get help in the future, you need to cool it.
Nice coin. I have never seen one of these with clash marks.
I think that someone was playing with the presses.
Try shooting the images flat to the lens. Angle shots don't work.
I would be at $125 to $150 but I'm not into collecting these.

I'm thinking green for sure.
66 I really like the reverse. Looks like it has some nice color.
Really cool thread Johnmilton. Fun read.
The date numbers look interesting. I don't have a reference to look it up.
Hi Doug and welcome to CT. Are you trying to post images?
No problem. The results are in. You can go ahead and post one of yours.
Pretty coin jom. I love it.
Not that hard to find but they come at a strong price. There is also the quarter with the FE clash showing. There has not been a half or $20 gold...
It looks like die damage to me.
Just damage.
It won't grade.
1857 was a crazy year for die clashed Flying Eagle Cents. They came clashed with the dies from the quarter, half and the $20 gold piece.
