If I'm not too late, I'm in! Thank you for the drawing.
Yep, you're right. It helps if I read the denomination. The 1911-D is more valuable than the regular 1911. For some reason I thought...
Definitely not a weak "D!" Awesome find.
Ack, that was one of my favorites in your Box of 20!! That said, I'm sure the three it's being traded for are worthy successors. I'm looking...
I'm going to guess the inner coins are either MS66* monster toned 1889-CC's or VG details cleaned 1881-S's.
Stacks also said this coin is an S-3, R.3- when it sold at auction. Beautiful coin and a great piece of American history.
Did it originate from Philadelphia or from Beijing? It looks suspicious...
I'd have to agree. Or at least buy 50+ good looking MS69's instead of one spotted MS70...
Haha c'mon, eating is overrated.... and you know you want that 1836 B-5!!
You could probably show them where it says "United States of America" on the reverse and they'd still insist it was foreign or something. Lol
I'm in, if I can still enter. Thanks for the kind giveaway!
It appears to be the Browning-4 (Rarity 1). The site I use for the attributions when I don't have my book readily available is here:...
The 1916 quarter could be a pretty big stopper. If it were me I'd probably go for the Walking Liberty Halves, but either design is nice.
No way I'd buy a $6000 coin whose value is almost completely dependent on the slab it's in.
I think you should crack it out and buff it up with the ol' dremel before you even think of selling it!
Nice coin! It appears to be Cohen-2, based on the close spacing of the S and T in "STATES." There are only two die pairings this year and they are...
Nice coin and a cool set. I can't wait to see which one you choose for the Dahlonega slot!
You're a man after my heart @sdnewguy ! I too love the look of a well circulated coin that's really old. Here's a couple of mine that I'm fond of....
Nice collection! Every time I see a post from you about seated liberty coinage it reminds me that I need to get around to finally acquiring one....
Very nice set! May the odds be ever in your favor of finding an 1836 B-5 or an 1837 B-6.
