i will go with g-6 but im always sceptical about the authenticity of most 1914 Ds. there are soo many good "tooled" ones out there
I'd say books on coins, then jewelers loupe which reminds me I need to get a better one lol I'd reccomend getting a loupe with a Hastings's lense
I'd say its just normal die wear and deterioration. I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe there is a 9/8 overdate

Have you done a magnet test on the copper 1943 cents? That will tell you if they are jyst copper plated or not.
Alright guys ive been doing some google searching and the die crack on the obverse lines up with the O-101 1808/7 does this sound correct to you...
we would need pictures to be sure but it sounds like it may be a barber quarter

hobo is correct that is damage that was caused when they encased the coin into one of those holders. i have several similar to it
