I have always wondered how much actually goes to a smelter. I'll guess it happens a lot if the dealer has a local smelter.

Once a print turns dark, there is little chance that acetone will remove it. You could try a coin dip but I'm thinking the print will still show.
I gave mine to pay off a ladies past due rent and she will never know who paid it.
