There are thousands of dimes like that available. I have run across at least a hundred in the last six months!
I say this cent was laying on a table with other cents during a house fire.

It's not missing-you just can't see it.
Am I the only one that sees a difference in the "Li" and "berty" in Liberty? Looks like the Li is smaller. And- it is a slightly misaligned die coin.

I'm seeing it real simple. 1) There must be serifs on the G in FG 2) It must have a wide AM 3) It must have a "D" mint mark
Regular dime weight is about 2.27, copper weighs 3.11 and the new zinc cents weigh around 2.5. 1968 should weigh around 3.11. 2.97 is close...
