I have used the same for many years. It takes a few minutes per side. I just kick back and polish while watching TV. The same polish also works...
I think that would have to damage the dies or the collar but I don't really understand the coin.
The camera and lens is the important part. If the camera lets you do a custom white balance it will adjust to the type of lighting you are using....
For the coin to be smaller, I would think the coin was struck using the wrong collar.

It looks raised to me as well. Maybe just the image. I don't see a cut that would have raised the metal. It's an interesting coin to me.
