I've looked at many a coin on heritage auctions, and it seems to me like newer auctions (past 2 years or so) have dishonest pictures. Some of...
It should come back a in the 60's range, so you could just take a blind guess if you want!
Don't worry, I didn't take it seriously :goofer:
I know they are much much harder it seems on these designations. I read that at ANACS, if a morgan dollar has such deep mirrors, that type can be...
I know that anacs would definitely be harder on it, I think PCGS would give it a 65, and I think anacs a 64, maybe a 65. It's a very clean coin,...
Okay, so I know there has been a million threads on grading companies, but I think my question is a little different. I have an 1879 s PAF reverse...
one more thing, the thing that looks like some sort of scratch that seems pretty long around the forehead is from the scanner, and is not on the coin.
So here is the contest, I will be submitting the coin pictured in this thread for grading, and whoever guesses the correct grade will win a prize,...
The luster is much nicer than it appears in the photos, it definitely has full luster.
What the he..........?
I'm going to guess pci gave it a vg-10, and you gave it an f-12?
So what's the grade? I'm dying to know : )
I'm going to say 63. Not sure what they say about the color though, it's red-brown most likely.
In 65, 66, and 67, it would be worth about 125, 325, and 920 based on some older grey sheets. I would value this particular coin at about 35 dollars.
Hi ben, I believe it would grade an ms-62, or maybe a 63. There are too many marks in the prime focal areas to make a 64 IMO
Even the 67's have a weak strike for this year. It's unusually weak for some reason.
SLQ I believe is standing liberty quarter. Not sure about FM?
Okay, I'll post the grade. It's an ms-66, not pl. I'll post a pic of the holder soon.
I think if I simply glanced at that holder, without thinking twice, I would have assumed it was an NGC holder. Thankfully, I think anyone will...
Here we have a PCGS certified morgan dollar. Keep in mind when grading, that 1900-p morgan dollars nearly all have horrible strikes. [IMG] [IMG]
