looks genuine to me. you should weigh it (or have it weighed). all indian cents (post 1864 anyway, should weigh the same).

many minor grease filled die 'errors', especially a coin like this where a main part of the design or date is obfuscated, are worth a little less...
in case you wanted another opinion ... This is just a late die state and is not collectible. It can be a cool example of what happens when dies...
