p.s. and for the record, I think the large cent does stand a chance reasonable chance to grade, but would need to see in hand to be sure.

Despite its age, this is not an uncommon coin. I would preach patience, particularly with a coin on the upper end of the affordability scale.

It IS a very fun series. Common enough that many/most varieties are affordable. Yet distinct enough to actually be able to tell the differences...
I would check with a local (and trustworthy) dealer. A list is available on PCGS website. Ask if you can add your coin to their next submission....

63 was my guess. Could be 62 because of chatter on cheek, could go 64 if it looks cleaner in-hand (pics don't show real clearly). Reverse looks 64.
Looks like the classic NGC AU 58 to my eye, but having a tough time judging luster.
Wonder if the carbon was there when it was slabbed. I'm wagering it was and graded the coin 65. If it was not, I could see the coin in a 66 slab.
