From the pics, I'd have no trouble with that in a 62 slab. How much of a spread are we talking about?
The coin is corroded. You might be able to get rid of the black stuff, but you will find surface damage underneath. I have a similar coin,...
I just don't like them. I don't like chopmarked trade dollars either. They simply detract from the eye appeal...to me at least. :)...
I'd have to see the coin in-hand to make an assessment, but from the pics, it looks more like a 63+ than a 64+. Getting past the grade, that's...
And what do those two books have to do with the way NGC grades? Nothing. That's at least a 66 by NGC standards, and likely a 67 (which is what I...

I don't see anything that screams AT about the coin in question. I would need to see in hand to make a more informed comment.
p.s. here's some more detail on the striking of the time: http://www.coins.nd.edu/ColCoin/ColCoinIntros/OakTree.intro.html...
You were right when you said "it was too perfect". None of these coins are even close to perfect. Someone once told me that the easy way to ID...
I'd like to see a closeup. Sure looks AT LEAST a 65 to me.
