If I were the OP, I would go to the largest coin show I could find and go through mint sets until you found one you liked. Perhaps a local store...
This thread has been edited quite a bit, and I find what's left rather curious. Taking the opening post at face value, I would suggest the OP...
The words "boinked with" come to mind.... ...that's code for "recolored"....Mike
If it were only one year earlier.... :) [img] [img]
Where's the luster? I guessed 64 (rb).
My guess is 6r. I could really see this going either way, and don't feel real confident. Could grade higher because of the LDS luster. Could...
The 74-s comes pretty clean. How high that coin would grade, I suspect, is contingent on how bad the hit on Ike's jaw is. It's a focal point for...
 I don't wanna know my grade or be entombed in a slab.
Why would it effect their revenue? More to the point: I suspect the same rationality exhibited in my post was similarly used by the people who...
One way to save money is to get to a show where PCGS is at, and submit in person. Also, sending more coins at once will allow you to save money...
Hard to say if it's been "cleaned" or simply "dipped". Regardless, it does not appear to be "original", and I say that with a great deal of...
I believe so, yes.

Pass. If I were you, I would save another hundred bucks, go to Shawn Yancey's website, and buy his 1800 S211 R3 Draped Bust Large Cent in PCGS...
I guessed 66. What made me grade it that was an apparent lack of luster (doesn't appear to have that LDS "glow" that PCGS likes in 67s)....
I guessed 65, but my spidey sense says it graded 66 and has since spotted up a bit. Man, these can be a crapshoot sometimes.
That's one tough 64 grade, IMO. But whatever, i'd pay 65rb money all day long for that (and I suspect it sold for even more than that).
that's one CLEAN coin. certainly looks good enough for a 67 grade (which is what I guessed). wonder what the edge looked like.
While it does have that look, I'm not so sure, Matt, that I would be so unequivocal. If it were completely original, I would not have thought it...
I would prefer the first coin posted to the 2nd coin posted to this thread, but even the first coin posted is a bit on the dark side for my taste....
