Could be that infamous ATM error I've read about!!!
Not. JMO
I guest it's the one you have!;)
@Legoman1 graded PF66 by NGC !
@paddyman98 it's a PCI slab !
I'll go out on a limb here and say I see a lot of scratches,scrapes and metal being moved around on the coin. PMD.

Does anyone have a link to identify the SMS variety? I remember reading somewhere it has something to do with the hair detail and the 4 in the date.
Yes it is!
[ATTACH] [ATTACH] Acquired another very nice specimen! What do you think? I really enjoy these coins! Proof coin BTW !
@paddyman98 yes I agree 100%. What I thought to be unusual was the number of cracks coming off of memorial. I didn't see anything like it posted...
Let me see if I can find it. May have posted it so I'll go back and look! Btw good eye on that one, I may have overlooked that one!
@Rick Stachowski I will have to look through my Wheaties I think I might have one similar to that!
Try using a piece of paper and a pencil and lightly use the pencil over the paper on the coin. This has worked for me in the past. Just a thought.
Also weighing it would help tell a lot.
Looks like a normal 1960 D penny to me. Although hard to tell from the pics it does appear to be a small date 1960 d. Better close up pics of both...
This is something I could not find on CUDSONCOINS. So I'm calling it unusual. Many die cracks off of Memorial corners from top and bottom to rim...
Mission accomplished! Lol
Didn't think of that but an arc weld contact would create splatter and much more damage but possibly a wire feed Arc could explain some of it.
When I looked at this I noticed that the copper looking piece on the reverse looks exactly the same in reverse on the obverse if that makes sense....
