Seriously … "S" mints are usually struck pretty hard. I do not agree with this either but nice coin
I think that the strike is a really good one for an "O" mint Initially I thought 58 but kicked it up a notch because of it.

Actually this coin is struck pretty well for an "O" minted coin. There is a lot of chatter on the coin surfaces which probably degraded it...
Yeah figured I would throw it out there. 1899-s are one of the lower mintage coins so there is also that :-)
[ATTACH] I think this is a VAM-14. Looks like a tilted FAR right - Though not stated in the VAM description 14 has a slanted date which this one...
