i got into it about 2 years ago when parents got a 1962 proof dime for me.
thats a really nice addition to a collection.
okay, so now knowing that it wasnt graded by a legit grading company. whats the value?
oh.. so should i send this coin in to be graded by a legit grading company?

i just turned 15 in October. yes i am a YN. How long have you been collecting?
The case is scratched, but it still has the original seal around the case.
This is a 1962 proof dime that i recieved as a gift for Christmas two years ago. this is the first coin that i got and what got me into coin...
okay. i now have a 1973 penny with the initials VDB missing.
i sent a pm. thanks for the contest.
i was doing research and found that the 1973 penny was the most common one without the initials VDB, but I didnt know where to look for the initials.
i have one more coin that i actually found today while working and its not as off-center but it has a thick rim on part and no rim on the other.
if it was dated would that add or subtract value?
I see what you are saying. the unstruck part is pretty dirty.
then what might you think it is?
[ATTACH][ATTACH] My dad has this penny and we have different views on what it is worth, rarity, and collectability. can you help us out please?...
Ok. Great. That clears it up for me. Thanks for your help.
Ok so if i have a 1972 ike dollar. The melt value is at $10.06, would the coin be worth more than that?
As the price of silver rises, does that mean that the price of a coin would also go up if it is coin containing silver?
