I don’t know what premiums were 5 years ago for anything. Sovereigns are bullion coins minted by governments, or so that’s what I’ve been told.
I don’t see how that’s a score. $42/oz. Not like it ended up being spectacularly toned. The sellers photos were perfectly fine and not hiding...
I wasn’t referring to that lot. Referring to the OP’s 1/10 oz of silver.
What am I missing? I’m assuming shipping was cheap and maybe around $1 which would put you at $42/oz on this.
I just don’t view ASEs as something worth a premium. There are so many of them and the design is so old and tired that I view them as generic.
I bought them earlier in the week. I forget what spot was at the time. I see your point though, $12+ over spot for those. I just like them more...
Very cool. Too bad you couldn’t have gotten the whole roll before being broken open.
Aside from being bent, that is a spectacular coin. Such a great amount of detail left and no distracting marks such as scratches, stains or...
I guess I’ll pile one, damaged. You can see the metal that was pushed away and over the edge of the rim.
Went to get some silver at the LCS yesterday afternoon. Generics were $3 over spot, sovereigns were $4 over and ASEs were $8.50 over. 90% dimes,...
100% looks like the large E.
Duplicate post.
If silver spot is ~$8(57%) more today than it was 40 years ago how would that $1,000 be worth 47% less? I think that math works out to $1,587 and...
I don’t look at PMs, and nor should anyone else, as an investment. They’re merely a way for your savings to not lose value over time. You’d need...
Melt on the quarter eagles is $226. I don’t see those damaged ones selling for $450, especially the harshly cleaned and severely scratched one.
That was struck by misaligned dies, not an off center strike. If it were off center, both sides would look offset. Only the obverse looks off and...
Appears to be post mint damage rather than a genuine error. The obverse looks promising but the reverse does not look like it was mint made.
Just came across this video on YouTube and although it was entertaining, it made me cringe multiple times. Some of the coins the person was...
