No, I just did a couple of acetone soaks until all the green was gone, then distilled water rinse. no harm to the toning.
Clearly has high point rub but can't argue with the originality. Probably hasn't been through a lot of different hands since it was struck. Nice.
Agree. that Hawaiian is simply outstanding! Lynchburg, formerly PCGS 65 (de holdered to remove pvc) [IMG][IMG]
I see what looks like some surface marks by US and CA on the obv. I think it graded 63 then, 64 now? If I am not interpreting the photos...
Genuine. Rims look nice which is always a plus on these.
I'm at 66; on such a small coin the surface marks are minute. Luster looks full. good strike, great color.
The only 2 Pan Pac issues I can afford. The dollar is PCGS 65, OGH CAC. The half is P 63 if I remember, but the toning is original to the...
I was looking at a TruView of a coin from the same rev die (same cracks) and see no doubling, so probably an artifact of photography. [ATTACH]
Well, I'll cut her some slack then! Taking the responsibility for selling a coin collection, especially piecemeal, is no easy task .
Here is an interesting one, not a fake, but with some features that might concern people. An 1876 S, graded MS62 by ANACS, on eBAy. Note the...
It's ok with me to share a link to the thread; thanks for your comments & interest. I'm all for the "diffusion of knowledge."
I'm a little late on the reply, but on the genuine 93-s the 1 is almost exactly (but not quite) centered over a dentil. fakes are almost always...
luster looks good and the marks I see are fairly trivial, so will guess 64
The second set of pics helps some as now there appears to be a good deal of luster present. It also looks more attractive than in the initial...
I think you can only infer some things from images like this. 1. probably genuine (at least 75% chance IMO) no glaring tells 2. maybe original...
The coin has numerous problems and is a fake for sure.(ex: the 1 is not over a dentil). Ditto for the slab, the lettering in the insert is bad...
My favorite classic commem! Could be anywhere from 64 to 65 imo I'll guess 65.
You can use end-cutting pliers to break the slab into a couple of large chunks that can be gently pulled apart.
The photos are not of sufficient quality for me to decide between high AU or lower MS. I think it's a tossup between 58 or 63. Look forward to...
I'm thinking 63.
