This is a very tough variety, 1875 S type 1/2, micro s, the s being made for use on dimes. AU58 [IMG] [IMG]
I'd call it a 40, surfaces look nice. I agree.. the "55" on the 2x2 is .... optimistic. amended: pcgs 35, NGC 40

I kind of lean toward the "dark side" of US coins myself. Only started collecting them within the last 7-8 years though so still have all of mine.
sold today for about $1425 which is in the neighborhood of full retail for a fine, the coin in question has VF details.

As to which design I prefer, I think draped bust wins. But, the heads of 1807-1808 have a dignity to them that that seems lacking in later years....
