Congratulations on your finds, especially the 1938.
Your cent is a delaminated one. The piece fell off. Here is an attached lamination so you can compare and see the difference. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Best to eat your way out! Lol
Looks like it spent some time in a dryer. Welcome to CT.
They make them that big?
Yes it is.
On the rim, it’s thin in one spot and directly across it’s wide. This occurs on both sides of the coin.
I’d put my money into a pre 1933 Gold US minted coin.
Sounds like you had a good time and did well.
We can’t even take a guess without photos of both sides.
I’d keep the 1936 and sell the other one. It may have graded higher but that weak strike would bother me. The MS-64 coin may grade a bit higher or...
The same goes for me. South Central Pennsylvania here and all my area gets is recycled coins.
An incomplete planchet. [ATTACH] [ATTACH] Beautiful toning and a slightly rotated reverse. [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH] [ATTACH]

A short but good day out. I especially like the error (lol) Wheat Cent. A straight clip making it an incomplete planchet.
That’s a nice error coin and you got it a good price.
It’s upside down and the real date is 1681.
It’s doubled but not the kind you want. It’s from a worn die and not a doubled die variety.
We miss you girl but we also are missing a photo of what your talking about. :)
It looks real to me but it also has corrosion and it’s been cleaned. It was more than likely metal detected at one time.
