Xylene, yes. But also Verdi care for the green might be in order. Retook the coppers after about an hour soak. Seems to have helped.

I think that's where we are headed on these larger coins, the water is helping but I suspect the acetone will be the finisher.

Thanks to @Pickin and Grinin 's little push in another thread, I have decided to cut out and conserve the 9 coins from the 1953 Royal Mint Set....
Yes. As far as I can tell from the KM manual, Great Britain itself did not mint silver coins at crown or lesser denomination for general...
No silver in the set. I don't think anything below a crown was struck in silver under Elizabeth II, except perhaps the coronation medals and...
I thought my $2 US investment into this Royal Mint Set from 1953 was decent two years ago... KM has mkt value of $65 on the set so not sure why it...
