So I have had the dateless buff soaking in vinegar for about four days now. It's almost there. I'll post pictures when I can see the date.
Me too. Much more affordable!
Thanks so much for the feedback. Here's a 1935 I found in a roll. Looks like a F-12 to me.
Yeah I checked and there's nothing, but the vinegar looks like it's kind of working.
Nice finds!!! That's unbelievable. Bring her some cookies and send the folder to me ; )
I picked it up for $6 so I did pretty good.
That's good to hear!
Just wondering, what should I have paid for that?
If all those scratches are on the slab, I don't see anything keeping it from being a 66.
Two of your three are correct, but the lowering its numismatic value... it is worth melt value now and would be worth melt value if it is altered.
Picked up another one today. 1913 T-1. What grade do you think it is. Looks F-VF to me.
No I have a dateless SLQ in about VG or better and I think it could benefit from date restoration. Do you think I could find the stuff on eBay?
I'm going to the coin shop today and I'll check for Nic-a-Date, but otherwise, I'll just soak it in vinegar.
I was told vinegar would do it for buffs. Would it help SLQs as well?
Yeah. At least I think it is, but I can't be sure because it's always reflecting another color... There is no toning on it to answer your question.
Harshly cleaned and then baked. That's the only way I have seen copper have toning like that.
I have read a lot about getting back dates on buffalos, but is there any way to restore them on dateless SLQs? Thanks.
I like the horn on this one.
