Yes - all good points. These are the things that need to be hashed out first in my opinion.
My suggestion is that the goal of the book and the target audience should be agreed upon first... then a basic layout, basic idea on length, etc...
My plan for now is to take them out over the weekend, give each a good scrub with a toothbrush, rinse - take more photos..... change the water and...
