I also have a 2006 P nickel that has what looks like it would be a sticky residue on it. Almost like a peice of tape or sticker was place on it....
I have a 1992 P nickel that had a "scratch" or "cut" through it. Im not really up on errors so I dont know if it is one or just plane damage....
Yeah its tru the monetaty loss isn't that bad. It was not an S but i was drilled trhough the V. Just hate to see that

oh i have a foll-up question to my original one. how can you tell that a coin is "high grade" if it's still in original mint packaging?
If I understand this whole grading process correctly collectors will order silver proof eagles from the mint and take them out of their original...
