There are definitely some Kennedy halves in there... From the picture I can only make out a bicentennial, but I can see others in there.
Looks polished to me... They're just generally not seen that shiny. I am not an expert, though, so I'll let someone else chime in.

Try putting it up on here before eBay. I know there would be many collectors seeking it (myself included :D).
Also, the 1908 S is considerably less than the 1909 S, generally costing around $60 in G/VG condition.
