I am certainly no expert, but I suspect when you see a large cent that is sort of orange, it has been cleaned. I have a few.
I suspect sandpaper is out, also.
A coin dealer sold me flips with PVC a couple of years ago and I put all my miscellansous coins in them, not knowing there would be a problem....

I think I'd have to pay at least another $30 per year. The box I have now ($40) is a perfect fit for the coins I have.
I've quite a few of them and don't want them stolen.
Well, the cigar box is 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 X 2 1/2, and it barely fits, along with all the other stuff I have in it.
They's have to be short enough to fit into my safe depost box.
