Interesting. I didn't think a coin could be graded, even PO01 Genuine/Details, if it couldn't be dated.
I try to avoid coins below VERY FINE (I have some exceptions). And I really try to avoid DETAILS coins. EXCEPTIONS When I can't find an undamaged...
IMO, no. It appears to me to be just toning from age, not crud. And acetone is mainly for crud and won't affect toning.
The 1943 and the 1943-S both show that the zinc coating has been breached and the steel is beginning to rust. The 1943-D is a nice one. Looks...
Grading old copper gets strange when you let the EAC people take a look. That 1824 large cent I bought at the EAC sale is in an XF-45 BN NGC slab...
VERY nice coin. I'm seeing AU-55.

I don't know. I have no idea of what the R-value is.
Look at the eagle's head over the eye and the upper most areas on the wings. IMO AU-58 is a bit of an overgrade. I think AU-55 is closer to the truth.
And don't forget the apparent clashed die on the obverse. Hey, if you're going to fake a coin, do it to the max
Nice coin; fair price. Well done.
@SteveInTampa thanks. So that means the bills themselves cost about $20-25. That's about right for the 1957A and a bargain for the 1957B.
I bought them slabbed. $45 each. So I don't know the cost to get them slabbed.
Just wanted a star note for each of these small-size series. The 1957 is coming. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
I don't have such a thing as a MS- or PF-70 coin. I think my coin with the most recent date is a 1964-D Washington Quarter in MS-67. But the...
Yeah, we need to see the whole coin - both sides.

Certainly looks like an RPD. But I don't have a good reference for Shield nickels so I can't give any further help.
Yes, that works very nicely. Different monarch than my interest area, but the Brits can sure design some very appealing coins. I have a birth...
