I think the strike is too strong... I'd think the thinner cent planchet would have a duller strike, but it would be hard to get it down to 3.1...

nickels are 5 grams,right ? If you took off 1.9 grams (38%) wouldn't that be awfully noticeable ? If the weight is 3.1 grams, it must be real.
