66RD for me.
There are a lot of much nicer Randall Hoard pieces out there. Hold out for one with better eye-appeal.
If it's 10% or so, I'll generally accept it. But sometimes they come in with an offer of 40% back of my listing price. I don't reply, because if...
I voted 63, but the more I look at it, the more I want to bump it up. A sweet coin that I'd be proud to own.
I also see it as a VF-35 with possible cleaning. This is one that would need to be seen in person.
VF-20, although based on my experience, it could get a details grade due to the rim hit at 2:00...
Ten-year old me was going through rolls and rolls from the bank, just thinking..."this next roll has gotta have one...."
Very few tiny marks, excellent strike: 65.
I'd probably be at 45, but I could see a 50 happening. The dark, almost black, areas here and there on Lincoln's portrait would concern me if it...
I'm in the 64 crowd.
There are some pretty major hits on both sides. To me it's a 62 at best.
I'm with the 63 crowd. Kind of an average mint-state dollar.
The dates don't look correct on either the 1867 or the 1869. I think both are counterfeit.
It doesn't appear so. The RPM is pretty dramatic, almost a third loop of the "S".
From those pictures, the coin appears to be circulated and cleaned / reprocessed /recolored. I wouldn't touch it with a 100-foot pole.
I put it at 64 due to the exceptionally clean fields. But a 63 would not surprise be due to the hits.
Yes, the 58 referred to the amount of rub I see. I'm not saying the services would call it "AU-58, details".
58 details due to very slight high-point rub. Whether it would straight grade or not is hard to say for sure without seeing it in person.
Good luck... I think if you get it for your bid, you'll have done well.
Wish I could be there, Mike. Traveling again....
