Exactly he's making it look like it could be an error coin or something. He knows what it is, the fact that he's saying he dosent is the problem.
Theres a guy in eBay that has been selling double sided coins and claims he "dosent know what they are" seems like a scam to me if he's got more...

Depends on the coin. Old coins that are really collectible adds premium, modern stuff that people dont collect nobody cares :p
