I think the OP is talking about a bill with the serial number 12311902, not an actual large-size note from 1902. Anyways, cool find.
Can't wait to see what people find! I'm going to be throwing a couple odds and ends into the mix from my own collection. :)
That's post-mint damage (PMD). It isn't a mint error. This damage occurred outside of the mint.
That would certainly be very generous of you considering we likely have thousands of members... Are you planning to cut one coin into thousands...
edited That quarter isn't worth any more than 25 cents. I wouldn't go around handing out false hope if I were you. A 1974 quarter will not fetch...
Hahaha nice one! You fooled me for sure...
Definitely AT unfortunately.
Correct. All US coins made without a mint mark (D, S, W, CC, C) are from Philadelphia. Some later Philadelphia coins have a P mint mark but for...

I bought this 2 cent piece for $4 last time I went to a flea market :) [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Wow! It's amazing that you found it sitting on the ground after so many years... Unfortunately I know next to nothing about Chinese coinage but I...
My only guess is that it could be plated. I’m not sure why, but it looks a bit off for a 40% silver half. Hopefully it’s a real error though :)
Haha we’re happy to help :) In the future, create a new thread for every coin you have a question about. This is the conventional way of posting...
Just some terrible damage. It looks like it may have been scraped against concrete a couple times :dead: Sorry, but its 100% not a mint error.
I agree with the others. Its a definite fake. Hopefully you can get a refund...
