While it is a doubled die, it's from a doubled master die. You will see the same doubling on nearly half or more of the 1972 cents from all three...
It's likely more than one hub was used for the series. There were at least 6 obverse hubs for the eagle clad quarter and at least 14 reverse hubs.
Almost forgot, got a 57 type b from junk too. Nearly have a roll of 57 type b quarters now. Seems to be most common.
Not from rolls, but good cherrypicked from my LCS in Denver. Got a 1960 proof set, small date over large date class 3 ddo for small date set price...
I've found four wams near Denver, so might be something to the tourist angle.
It's a wide AM from what I can tell from the picture. Check out coinfacts for good high detail pictures of the close am.

It looks like the 1972 is a DDO. Can you post more photos of it?
Yesterday the carwash change machine coughed up a 1969-d type h quarter. Second one I've found. Now to find the 70, 71, and 72 type h. They look...
What you have is die deterioration doubling. There are lots online about it. Not worth anything though.
I would keep it, and its a 2006 series. Good find.
While looking through a box of quarters, I ended up with two silver, and this 1985-p with two cuds.
I've found at least six of the ddr's so far, so finding them isn't too hard. Other than the few major ones, most are somewhat minor. In the...
