Good job finding that one! I've got one cud listed so far, and a double cud I need to send in.
It's a large date. After you see them side by side you will never have to ask. On the small date liberty is very weak, like the weak motto on 32...
Looks like that is a rim cud.
I'd bet the farm it's 100% fake. No doubt. I don't know the series but it has fatal flaws that condemn it as fake with just one glance. Hope no...
You will see this a lot on early clad quarters. Finding a nice circulated coin without damage and early die state can be a major challenge.
There were two reverse dies used for the 01-s quarter. The damage would worry me, as was stated above. Will be interesting to see how this one...
It looks to be around VF. I'm not strong in grading standing liberty quarters.. If vf-30 it would be worth around 100 dollars give or take 20.
It took me nearly two years to complete my set completely from circulation. 38-s and 50-d were the hardest with two each. One easy way to tell the...
If you post a picture front and back of the coin as a new post, there are many here who would love to look at it.
I could see some very valuable information coming from a study of the acoustic properties of gold and silver coins. The OP has a point. Does...
Very nice find! Fortin's work is a very valuable reference that is absolutely essential to any seated dime collector. Don't know what I'd do...
Yeah that's ddo 1, every example I've seen is slightly misaligned like your example.
Congratulations! Good find, still looking for any of the 72 dies myself.
I'm going to have to differ on this one. I've found a number of doubled dies, and believe he may have one. The other alternative is severe die...
Not even a proof.... That's a 70-d and doesn't have the right hub type for a proof...
I believe proof quarters are struck on slow speed presses and are HAND fed into the collar. That error is 100 percent on purpose.
The last photo is of Master die doubling too.
What I want to add is to always inspect your coins under magnification. Get to know what real looks like by inspecting as many coins as you can.
It's from the doubled master die, but there may be something more going on there, so I believe it should go to wexler too.
Looks late die state.
