I'm leaning towards a reverse of 1940 on this one. I can see a serif on the S above the dome (pluribus) and can see a vertical line at the end of...
Great find! They are out there. Found a 24-d Lincoln a few days ago.
My bank removed theirs, so I have to roll everything up. Not as hard or time consuming as you would think. I keep a bag of rejected coins and when...
It's a proof. No question. Has the proof reverse hub used from 1937-1964 on Washington quarters.
This many high grade examples of early silver is highly suspect as it is. The surfaces of the coins show no sharp detail and are dull and...
I concur on the experts opinions. None of the coins pass muster.
Didn't see this before now, just wanted to say Great Coin!
I'm in the small date camp.
I did it completely from roll hunting. It can be done. Last one I found was the 38-s.
Check coinfacts, and look at date placement on the proofs. There were only 460 1863 proof Indian cents, so likely one die was used for the mintage.
On the wam, the m is centered between the a and e.
My advice to anyone looking for ddo or DDR Lincoln cents is to pull all dates that have doubled dies. Such as 63-d, 66, 68, 68-d, 69-s, 70s, 71,...
I'm still waiting on a genuine 69-s ddo on here. I owned one, and can say it's VERY obvious and once you've seen one, you will never mistake...
Sorry, it's not the big ddo.
There are two types of nickels produced in 1942, type 1 and silver alloy type 2. If I remember correctly, the type 2 was produced starting in October.
A good resource for seeing what to look for is pcgs coinfacts. Shows each date and mint, and major varieties. Also can zoom in on each coin.
All 1996 cents have a close am. Nothing special.
I would recommend the official red books for the series you are interested in. There is in depth info on each date and mint, plus prices in each...
Still a pretty good find.
Might as well keep raw then, it grades ms-62 on a good day!
