I vote, not an error as well. Notice that all the lettering has copper plating. The only way that could've happen is if there were perfectly...
It usually takes 3-5 days if you're using the vinegar method.
It looks like it was damaged, but I can't really give a firm opinion because the photos are a bit out of focus.

It is very prominent on "IN GOD WE TRUST". Look at the thickness of the letters, especially the "O" in "GOD".
