I don't get cracking out high dollar coins like Draped Bust halves worth like $1,000 + to put them in an album. I'm thinking for storage...
I would not say it is wear since it is a rather low relief part of the coin. I'm thinking some grease or such got into the D on the die. Not...
You got that right ! I'm sure 40% Kennedy halves get melted like crazy, since they are a bad form of silver. I'm pretty sure 90% coin silver...
again these coins are scrap metal if not high mint state. Any serious collector would only accept BU examples of Memorial cents or even wheats...
Just look at later indian head cents say 1880-1909. The mintages were way less than in the 1960's and you can get these for $5 or less in nice...
Proof coins of 90% SILVER and only a few million minted often get sold as junk silver. Those copper Memorial cents better be MS-65 red or better !
What is the value of the note vs. the bid ?
about $25
I don't see any wear on it, so I'd call it MS if not for the added mintmark. It kind of amazes me that mintmarks can be added to a coin. I...
I thought the angle of the MM looked funny also. It seems to have no luster either, but maybe a scan ?

searching pennies takes too long. Just hoard nickels instead
It looks great.....but I have to suspect AT. I would never take it out of the slab.
+1 If these are like MS-60 coins, I wouldn't pay over $100 for that set....unless I knew I could resell it for a lot more.
Sounds like the doctor buys them in MS-67 slabs and then does his work to me. If the grade were lower you be able to spot something on the coin...
thanks for your assessment. I really am unsure, but 100k in nickels is less space than many might think. some difference here in opinion, I think...
legal or not, a black market will exist. as I said copper Memorial cents have a market even though you can't melt them legally. The nickel...
there is a market value for copper Memorial cents, I believe you could easily get double face value on 1959-1981 cents. Nickels will get there...
profit potential, no way this coin can continue to be minted much like copper cents ended in 1982. Would you not buy every copper cent you could...
like 11 tons there
