I believe too much money is a thing. There are people out there that have more than they'll ever be able to spend.
Not a bad idea to do when you get your hands on a known fake. But of course only if you're certain.
I would also take the money. At some point in the future you may be able to buy another one at half that price.
Doubtful gold and silver will perform like that.
