Nice find. :)
That is caused by a slightly misaligned die. Those are very common, and not worth a premium unless they are misaligned enough to cut into the devices.
I was hoping you had it, but I guess PCGS had their example misattributed. I'm still unsure since no one seems to have any marker details...
The WDDO-005 is a class 4 + 8 doubled die, so it shows light separation as well as extra thickness.
As for the T, it appears to be die deterioration. However, it could also be a circular die gouge. I can't tell for sure from the photos. The O...
Nice find. Looks like WDDO-005. What's going on with John Wexler?
PCGS gets it wrong at times, but the key is that Ethan has a DDO/DDR. That rules out a lot. Given the matching doubling, I would say it's 801.
In PCGS plastic, I would think $80-$100 at auction. A PCGS 65 just sold for $116 on Great Collections back in December. Not a bad return on...
I'm not sure you can determine if a die was rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise. Assuming you are talking about rotated dies, and not the...
Congrats Ethan. That's a great pick up! I use Photoshop CS5. Jody
Ethan, Here's your image: [ATTACH] And here's the 66 example that PCGS shows on their Coinfacts page: [ATTACH] Nice pick up. See if you...
If PCGS is attributing correctly, then you've got it. If you look at the 66 example they have photographed, you'll see the exact same north-south...
That's a cool find Jay.
Yours looks very close to me, and the DDO makes it very likely IMO. I looked at the photos in my CPGC, and I believe I see two possible markers....
I would strongly recommend that you sent it in to one of the major third party grading services.
I saw the 1986 above it, and didn't even notice the date. This is a rare one, but probably in the couple hundred range. The photo you posted on...
Unfortunately these are modern, circulating coins. If you go to Ireland you'll find them as frequently as you find Jefferson nickels here in the...
If you were in the market for whizzed TVs why didn't you say so. I've got tons of them for cheap.
Any "doubling" you are seeing on this coin is from die deterioration. This was an old, worn out die. You can also see the heavy die cracks on...
Nice find.
