What do I look for so that I know the difference between cleaned and not? Smudges near dates/letters and such, scratch marks, tone/color?
No I don't mind as I need to learn, not looking for the HOLY CRAP YOU HIT THE GOLD MINE, just trying to learn.

So I have a membership with PCGS and they give you 8 free grades that I just used, this is the link to what they graded them.......
Well I guess I won't bid on coins that have tone look to them as I have no clue, they are very nice looking coins though..../sigh
How do you tell if it's been cleaned and toned to hide the cleaning or if someone just artificially toned it?
