      Hi Michelle,

I need a few days to answer your questions more properly:-) I'm in the middle of a bunch of research on a coin I can't identify:-) It's from 1759 and I can't find any info on it.

I don't want to post it on the forums.:-)

I'll be back in a few days:-)

      have Fun,
      Bill

      Hi Bill,
Good to see you on coin talk...thanks for looking at the 1985 P lincoln, and as usual you are correct..lol I asked other people, and there is a die clash along with deterioration. But it was sooo shiney and I like it. Rarely do I find a coin in the 80's or 90's that have much of a shine to them. Can you give me some info on the brass cents? I heard there were some out there..and wanted to start looking for them. Where should I go to look for more information? Thanks Bill and hope you are doing good. :)

      Hi Michelle,

It sounds like fun! Getting a 1909 S cent is an exciting purchase! Just one more to go:-) Just be careful.... The guy in China that is making and selling counterfeits on Ebay has sources here and on ebay that are selling 09S VDB cents that cant be told apart from the real thing. When you go for that last one, go to a reputable dealer....Don't buy it on eBay:-)

      Catchya later!

Hi Bill..I haven't touched those coins since I got them. They are still in package...took them out looked briefly. I will get to them soon...I am kinda of excited today..I made a purchase. I think it was a good one. I bought a 1909 s lincoln. All I need now is a 1909s vdb to complete that collection..lol I feel like a little girl in a candy store.:)

Hi Bill...still haven't gotten around to taking those photos yet. The one that you wanted me to get close ups of is so damaged I couldn't find a date. It is pretty however..in its own unique way...I think I am going to pick some pieces and make a nice bracelet from them...ttyl Hope you are better now:)

How come you had to go to the hospital??? gosh...that is too bad. It seems like everyone is getting a bug of some kind. The weather has been so weird too. Thanks for letting me know about the rules...I mean..I wouldn't want to take something from someone else's yard and claim it as my own..yikes. I will take pics tomorrow of my coins from Ebay. :) Thanks, and hope you are still feeling better!

Actually, I spent a day in the hospital this week. I'm home now and am doing OK. As far as metal detecting, I can give you a bunch of ideas but the first thing you have to do is check the rules and regs for the State of Alabama. I metal detect and I am one that completely plays by the rules. So do a seacrh for something like "metal detecting" alabama rules

It should get you the info you need. In some states like NY for example, you actually need a permit.

It's a fun hobby ! BUT...I took a quick look through some of the stuff pertaining to metal detecting in Alabama and it is pretty restrictive. Do a lot of research before you start unless you have a lot of property and are going to check your own property first.

Oh, my husband and Ithought it would be fun to get a metal detector, so we got an inexpensive one to start...where is a good place to start looking? Mobile alabama seems like it would have a lot of good places to search. I bet Ft. Morgan would be awsome too...but they won't let you search there...

I recieved my metal detector finds today also. I will look at them closer this week sometime. And I will try to get some good shots of them to post. Hope you have a great week!:)

Post the pictures and we can probably give you some information right here:-) There are many over mint mark die varieties. So most die variety specialists have heard of them. Let's try to see what you have.
