No, it wasn't rude at all. Your post was deleted because it was in violation of the forum rules.

What was rude was YOU posting such a thing - without reading the rules first.

Posting in the Auction Forum is pretty simple. Just click on the button that says Post New Thread in the upper left corner. Give your thread a title and write whatever you want in the message box. Just be sure to copy paste a link to your auction.

The Classifieds section works much the same way. Just click on the Classifieds button at the top of any page to open that section. Once you open that section, then click on Post Classified in the upper blue title bar. Then just fill out the form. About all there is to it.

Hello there! I have been a member of CoinTalk for a while, mainly reading threads for enjoyment but hardly ever posting. I am into collecting as well as trading (occasionally selling as well), and would love to be able to put up a thread in the auctions forum pointing to my eBay auction or in the open forum to sell/trade coins. I have more than 10 posts, I believe, but still can't figure out how. Could you help me out? Thanks!

I am brand new to this site and I only have an ipod so I can't post pics for some reason. Is there any way I can send you emails with my coin pics?

Hi Doug, You were bang on. The coin had a hammer price of $725. I am bidding on one or two quite high end
Canadian coins tomorrow so I let the $1 go once it got to 700+. I went to the bank today and couldn't fit anymore
coins in my safe deposit box, so I hope that might slow me down a bit. Bought a common coin in VF+ blind from
Spain, turned out to have been harshly cleaned but rare. Y-329 was actually Y-329.4 with double teeth on reverse and
the lettering for Yuan didn't ..............in fact I'll post it on World and Ancients........thanks.Julian

      Howdy Julian -

There's going to be a bit of a range on that coin and the price will depend on how nice it is for the grade. Range could be from $600 to $1000 but most of them will probably go from $600-$725.

As for popularity, the gold dollar is not the most popular coin of course but neither is it the least popular. The type 2 is the more scarce issue and typically sells for 3 times as much (or more) than the type 1 in the same grade. Heritage has only sold 7 of them in 58 and 18 of them in MS grades this year so that helps give some idea of the scarcity.

      Hi Doug,

Came across a type 2 1854 Gold $1 Indian Head with Headdress for auction slabbed NGC AU58. Could you advise of a value? I looked in the Catalogue
but that may or may not be accurate right now and it only states AU50 and MS60. Also, a bit more subjective, is this a popular coin in US market or not....
      thanks, Julian

Used to have, but thanks. Germany was not one of my specialties thus only the few pieces. I bought those pieces because of their scarcity and because they were unusual.
