I know you have been predicting that amount. I think I may have even suggested you place it near your disclaimer in the signature line of your posts to save you the trouble of posting it all the time. :D

Dave, I've been into PMs since about 1985... with a few breaks in between and a move or two in interest between metals. Not that I own a vault full like Elaine does but I anticipate buying for a lot longer and remain diversified in other ways, just so you don't get the idea I'm some sort of physical bullion only type. :D

I'm jealous! I can't even imagine where I would be right now if I was purchasing back then!!!

BTW, was on conference call today with a guy from ireland, it's always so interesting to hear accents around the world....

I will admit that I do have a bad habit of repeating myself. Sometimes when I get excited, I tend to repeat myself quite a bit. I guess that seeing silver go up does make me excited. :D I think that you did mention that but I forgot. I apologize for that. If I decide to make another gut feeling prediction on silver for the end of 2011, then I think I will take your suggestion and put it under my disclaimer in my sig. line at the beginning of 2011. :D

How do I unsubscribe from this discussion? I have moved on to Elaine's NEW discussion.

But she hasn't reached her goal with this thread yet... Do you see how FAR off her predictions are? It's all just a case of eventuality in her case, one she subscribes to by monitoring flashy media headlines that hype bigger and bigger numbers for the outlook in PoG. Also note in her PM threads that she will only post on price increases and never be around for the dips.

I watched this recent interview from a gold bug, I forget who but pretty well known. He predicted earlier this year that gold would go to $1500- $2000 by the end of the year. It was recent enough for him to speak about the recent silver/gold high's and he made sure to mention that he has no reason to think gold still won't go to his prediction levels of $1500 - $2000.

Honestly, I think the guy is just trying to push the gold market higher and doesn't want to admit his numbers are off. There's no saying that it won't go to those numbers but we are talking about 3 months left in 2010. Gold isn't even at $1300....

Now, I know this guy is more knowledgeable than I am, but this is the kind of stuff I don't like. He should have just admitted his numbers are too high.

Something crazy would need to occur for gold to spike $300+ before the end of 2010!!!! If he revised his numbers for end of 2011, I'd respect him more....

fools_gold: I agree. This is why I caution folks who are easily attracted by and follow Elaine for her enthusiasm or any of the sources she cites for PMs going higher and higher. There is no limit for them and every advance up is a victory in their eyes/minds. I'm not saying those increases in PM values will not nor cannot be realized... I'd like to take advantage of selling high if possible but I don't like the prospects currently of what that world will look like... and I feel there are hysterics just under the surface of Elaine's drive and other media driven fears throughout the global public mindset. Fears for many, many factors-- the kind of factors that turn people to PMs. It's the ramp up or rather, race up, that I am very wary of, esp. knowing the volatility and slow upward march PMs take. But let us not forget the quick descent they can suffer as well. I don't know anymore than an economist, accounting guru or my neighbor, but I am conservative in my outlook, one that I see room for price increases, but at a slower rate of performance than most others seem to want.

Yup agreed. It's kinda like inflation. You see, you buy a slice of pizza today for about $2-$3 but it won't be $5 tomorrow. Eventually it will get there....I remember the days when my slice of pizza was $0.90 cents. That's the lowest I remember. Gold is at $1250'is today and although the global economy is in bad shape, it's not "Mad Max" world either. We will probably see $1300-$1500 gold and we will all still sit calmly at our computers speaking about these prices....it's going to be a gradual process. As long as the prices of PM's continue to hold and protect my wealth that is all I'm looking for in all this....

I believe "thread tools" located at the top of the page, but below the list of all the places you can (just above the first posting for this page). I think that's what you want, but if not, FAQ has the answer:)
Myself, I'm sticking to THIS discussion, as I was told it will continue on. Very interesting!

Glad you are sticking around Lucyray!

...and I'd like to add to that (repeating myself about Elaine), that she actually does little to no 'talking' but rather generates a buzz with posts cajoling PMs in one direction only, in reflection of the market on only those up days and by advantage of media reporterage in her favor. When directly asked what she thinks, little to no insight (or opinion) has ever been produced, nor detail of her analysis to support her bias made evident.

    The "discussion", is here. :thumb:
