The most recent unemployment figures may be an indicator of the dreaded "double dip". I feel that if the Christmas Sales season is dismal, we might see a flattening if not a dip in metals prices ?

But I have been wrong as often as right since '72 when I first got involved in buying bullion.

100 oz bars make a great paperweight and are quite a conversation piece.

Seems like it was only yesterday that I recall an exuberant Elaine posting like there was nothing going to stop these metals... that we'd likely see $18.75 by the end of day yesterday... sigh! What good times!

    CURRENTLY:

    GOLD: $1,224.40
    Silver: $17.97
    Platinum: $1515
    Palladium: $480

Day trading metals can make you rich or very poor quickly.

Elaine only concentrates on the up days, there are no down days in her world. Must be nice.

...until you learn that she's only interested in high priced PMs so that she can realize a profit on the modern silver mint commems that she overpaid the collector premium for to acquire, but now treats them like bullion and awaits a price point for silver that's yet some way off, something like $40+ per oz. and she's already got a good 20+ years in holding them!

Silver was down from yesterday's close, and therefore I thought it was an opportunity to purchase some SAE. On today's purchase I'm already up 1%. The markets next week, and the weeks afterward, will again be up and down, but the trend is UP.Have a pleasant weekend.

Hmmm. Has anyone noticed a difference in bullion spot prices? I stopped off at one dealers after work this afternoon and picked up a silver round, (I was tempted in other areas but my new motto is save baby save) I asked him what silver did today, and he said it closed just under 18, sometimes I notice the LME bullion price and kitco diverge, I will start asking some of the dealers where they get their spot price from.

Silver at $18.55 currently. Looks like we're going in for a wild ride!! One thing is for sure, silver has not been able to sustain these $18.50+ levels for any long periods. I wouldn't be shocked to see silver drop to $18.00 before the week ends....
