    I see what you are talking about (the 2 in 1992), but... what else?

    The die does not look doubleD to me. The 2 looks like machine doulbing but it is hard to say from the photo.

    that's either die detoriation or a lamination error.

    This is common on copper plated zinc cents. The rippling effect beside "2" is "plate shift doubling". In an older thread "foundinrolls" states that this is similar to but different to "plate split doubling".

    Die deterioration doubling, very common on 92's, not worth any premium. Here's the best one I've found.

    is this same effect seen on the reverse because i have a 92 put aside with an odd doubling in the word "cent"??
