a good place to buy bulllion from is on the classifieds section of this forum, most ppl sell for a great price...but before you go back out and buy more I suggest you educate yourself about what is good and bad bullion...the lower the price is a good idea but also making sure it's of good quality with that too...

even if it is what you were wanting...it's $10.49 over spot price being at $18.49 for ask...since you paid $28.98/bar

being strictly for bullion investing purposes you over paid alot...for the price of 2 bars you could have gotten 3 ASE's or 3 bars for $19.32/oz then shipping of a couple bucks...

if you did it for collecting you still didn't get a good deal but collecting isnt about making money or storing value as much a just for fun...

As far as I know, there have not been any issues with those particular silver art bars. These are new. The first time that I have seen those were in 2008. These are considered .999 generic silver. These are not gov't minted silver art bars.

These silver art bars were produced by a private mint but I do not know the name of the mint that produces them. Some of those have sold for high premiums over spot on ebay but since there are apparently quite a lot of them floating around, then you can probably find one cheaper at a coin show or at your local dealer.

You should buy what you like and if you like 1-oz silver art bars, then you should buy them but you should DYODD when bidding on silver art bars on ebay. Actually it is better to buy silver art bars locally from a local coin dealer or at a coin show because you can get them at lower premiums over spot.

Personally, I have never bought Silver bars less than 100 oz. That is a true ingot that makes a really heavy paperweight. lol They still fit well in a safe. Otherwise I invest in US Silver coins. But this is not the purchase of art or anything except Silver. As the coins carry numismatic value, buy bulk face lots. The reason is that the fluctuation will be in the Silver value alone and not popularity of a specimen of coin. A coin may be highly sought and expensive and become more blase in time and lose some value.

Still Metal investment is not for the faint of heart. You can also lose. I have sold $700 gold for $500 and $15 Silver for $7. Metals fluctuate. If you have a sufficient supply of capital to carry you through a low period, fine, but things happen that require liquidity. Be cautious is the best advice I would offer.
